Organise a Ready to Cure Donor Drive
You can directly make a huge and positive impact by organising a Ready to Cure Donor Drive with your community! A Ready to Cure Donor Drive is an event where people can come along to get a blood sample taken to join the bone marrow registry. And we can help you organise it!
What is a Ready to Cure Donor Drive?
A Ready to Cure Donor Drive is done in conjunction with the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR), they will provide a couple of nurses to come to your event and take the blood samples*. You will need to organise a venue and facilitate the booking of appointments to make sure the event runs smoothly. And this is where Ur the Cure can help out! We have all the resources you need to help you organise the donor drive from start to finish.
*Ready to Cure Donor Drives are dependent on the availability of the ABMDR nurses & may not be available in all states, please fill in the form below to find out more information.
Where does a Ready to Cure Donor Drive take place?
The events are generally done at community halls, schools and function rooms of religious institutions and so it doesn't necessarily have to cost you anything. As these venues have the community's interests at heart they will generally allow you to use their facilities free of charge.
The donor drives are a great community event where we can come together and support one another to help others in our community. They are fun and usually involve great food and music from the many different cultures of those who organise them!
